Our LGBTBBQ activism does not just deal with sausages. We also concern ourselves with pizza toppings. Here is the story behind our black olive activism:
I was once at a pizza shop and requested an unusual twist to my regular pepperoni order: I wanted to sprinkle some black olives on top. The pizza show owner turned out to hate black olives. He screamed to me “No olives on my pizza….Mama Mia! Get out of my shop”. I was so shocked by his disgusting response that I called up the newspaper and we wrote a hit piece on him titled: “It’s just a pizza toping man - Get over it!”. The pizza shop owner rightlyfully apologized and stopped bugging people for their olive preference.
After the story died down in the press ,I got a little sad. I was no longer getting a thrill from all the media attention. Turns out black olive hate is pretty rare amongst pizza shop owners so this media bonanza experience can’t be repeated that easily. I got to brainstorming ideas to get my thrill back:
I decided to go around all other pizza show owners to confirm if they are okay with black olives in hope that I would find another hater. However, I started encountering many pizza owners that would say “This is overblown, do you want me to make a statement on every type of topping? All toppings matter! Im busy working here, get out!”. To deal with those pesky pizza people I came up with the following scheme: I ask them them to buy a “Black olives matter” sticker and stick it on their pizza shop window and if they say “No” I threaten them with a hit piece. If they can’t publicly acknowledge that black olives matter then they definitely must be one of those secret haters! This way it’s a win win situation for me: either I get a thrill from a newspaper hit piece OR I get money for my sticker!
I was happy that I managed to come up with this great idea to get a thrill and money!
In conclusion, it turns out, that the people most annoyed with me aren’t the pizza shop owners, but other, fellow, black olive enjoyers as now they feel, at times, uncomfortable asking for olive topping in case the owner thinks that they are one of those insane activists….oh well.
Buy my sticker….or else you hate black olives!
